WREXHAM have fared well against Mansfield Town this season and Phil Parkinson wants that to continue tomorrow.

The Reds have faced the League Two leaders twice at Field Mill and have a draw and victory to show for their efforts.

October's league clash between the sides ended in a 0-0 stalemate but Wrexham returned to Nottinghamshire  the following month and triumphed 2-1 in the FA Cup first round with Sam Dalby and Paul Mullin scoring either side of the break before the Stage pulled a goal back.

The teams go head to head for a third time in 2023-24 in the return league fixture at The Racecourse tomorrow, with third placed Wrexham sitting three points behind the Stags in the promotion race, and Parkinson is looking for more of the same from his side.

"It is an important game against a team that has been up there with us all season," said the Reds' boss.

"We have had two games against them already and both were really keenly contested matches.

"We have got to learn from those games the parts of the game where we did really well and what we can improve on.

"In the first game, they started the first half really quick but we played really well second half.

"We started getting more control of the game and probably had the better chances in the second period.

"The cup game was played in very wet conditions and we scored two good goals. We were pleased with how we played, I felt we'd improved against them from the first game.

"We will be looking to do that again on Friday."

Wrexham go into the game on the back of Saturday's superb 3-1 win against Grimsby Town where the Reds netted three times in the first-half, with Andy Cannon bagging a brace to go with top scorer's Paul Mullin's 18th strike of the season.

Chances had gone begging in the two previous home games, when Wrexham took one point from a possible six, but Parkinson was delighted with the response at Blundell Park.

"What we spoke about in the previous games, we put it into practice well and I was really pleased with the quality of the goals," he added.

"It was a good all-round performance. We were clinical in the way we went about our business, and deservedly got the points."
