A FORMER Ellesmere man has denied a raft of sexual offences against children in a crown court hearing on Friday.

Kieran Bowers, 26 and of Shrewsbury, denied eight offences at Shrewsbury Crown Court – sitting at Telford Magistrates Court – and will now face a trial in September this year.

Bowers pleaded not guilty to three offences of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, three charges of sexual communication with a child aged 13 as well as two breaches of a sexual harm prevention order.

The offences are all alleged to have taken place between July 2022 and April 2023.

He will now stand trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday, September 23 lasting for five days with the option of a second week.

However, Bowers will also attend a Section 28 hearing on Friday, May 3.

Judge Peter Barrie told him: “I’m going to adjourn your case for trial on September 23.

“You have to make sure you keep in touch with your solicitors and your responsibility to know when you have to be here.”
