A busy main road near Oswestry has reopened after several hours closed while emergency services were at the scene of a police-led incident.

The A5 at Gobowen was closed in both directions between the five crosses roundabout and North Gledrid roundabout.

Police said diversions were in place to allow traffic to bypass the closure which happened on Sunday morning (January 28).

Drivers had been told to allow extra journey time while emergency services were on scene.

Shortly after 11.30am, police confirmed that the road had reopened in both directions with delays clearing well in the area.
