AN AWARD-winning hair salon team is looking to challenge the cost of living crisis with a special ‘pay what you can’ special offer next week.
Hair Quarterz Hair Salon, located above the former Poundstretchers adjacent to the Card Factory in Bailey Street, Oswestry, is embracing a compassionate approach to support the community.
Dedicated to fostering a sense of solidarity, the salon will host a special event on Friday, January 19, from 10am to 1pm, exclusively catering to those facing economic challenges in the wake of the 2023 holiday season.

The last hair cut booking will be by 12.30pm.
Kelly Smout, owner of the salon which was named as one of the best in the Midlands in October last year, says the move has come after noticing fewer bookings were made up to Christmas.
She explained how the morning will work for people who may want to take up the offer.
She said: “Recognising the substantial decline in business activity during Christmas 2023, the salon's team empathetically identified the financial strain experienced by the community amid the prevailing cost of living crisis.
“In response to this realisation, we have chosen to extend a helping hand by introducing a 'Pay What You Can Afford' haircut service.
“This unique initiative allows patrons to receive a standard haircut, typically valued between £10-£15, depending on the stylist, while making a contribution based on their financial means.
“The service is available to individuals of all ages and genders, with appointments accepted on a walk-in or pre-booking basis only.
“The salon team is driven by the belief that a simple haircut can have a positive impact on mental well-being and significantly enhance one's appearance, especially in situations like job interviews.
“By offering this service, Hair Quarterz Hair Salon aims to contribute to the overall welfare of the community, acknowledging the multifaceted benefits that extend beyond the physical transformation.”
