MORE heavy rain is set to hit the westerly areas of Mid Wales and Powys on Wednesday after the Met Office issued another yellow weather warning.

The weather warning will kick in at midnight and is expected to be in place until around 6pm on Wednesday, December 27 with much of Mid Wales affected.

Wet weather is still expected for Welshpool and Newtown but only the latter is included in the weather warning.

However, the coastal areas and in land to Machynlleth are all expected to face more serious flooding as much of the UK faces extreme weather.

A Met Office spokesman said: “There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.

“There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

“Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

“Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
