AN OSWESTRY woman has been told by a judge to comply with a report into her mental health ahead of sentencing for drug offences in January.
Jane Torrens, 48 and of Prince Street, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Wednesday, December 20 to be sentenced for two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs specifically heroin and cocaine.
However, Recorder Joanne Barker was told that a report into the defendant’s mental health had not been undertaken because of a backlog in cases.

Recorder Barker agreed to a request to adjourn Torrens’s sentencing until the week beginning January 15 with a hearing likely to take place towards the end of the week.
The Crown Prosecution Service did not oppose the application.
She told Torrens that "it is in your benefit, which I tell everyone, to make sure you comply with the report".
