LLANRHAEADR crashed to a heavy 7-0 defeat at home to Radnor Valley in the Ardal North East League on Saturday.

The hosts went into the game following an emotional work with the community and club still coming to terms with the death of long-serving secretary Huw Williams last week.

The Tanat Valley received a host of tributes from clubs across Wales and Shropshire as a lifelong football fan and devotee of Llanrhaeadr Football Club was fondly remembered before the game.

The points were in the bag by the break with Joey Price, Taylor Wozencraft and Tom Edwards netting doubles before Ieuan Price completed the drubbing in second-half injury-time.

Jac Roberts starred with four goals and Owain Jones bagged a hat-trick as Dyffryn Banw thrashed 10 man Llanfyllin Town 9-0 in MMP Central Wales League North with Alwyn Jones and Gerallt Davies completing the scoring while Sean Jones saw red for the hosts.

The remainder of the Welsh border football programme was wiped out by the weekend weather as heavy midweek rain, coupled with freezing temperatures, ensured only a handful of fixtures survived.
