OSWESTRY turned out again in force as Christmas officially started this weekend before the weather arrived.

Oswestry Live on Friday night (December 1) saw the town packed for a mixture of late-night Christmas shopping, live music and plenty of fun across the town.

Central Car Park, in English Walls, was once again full of fairground rides and packed out with young and old enjoying themselves.

With Father Christmas in his grotto in the indoor market to a giant snow globe in Festival Square, the night ended with low-volume fireworks.

A town council spokesman said: “Another great Oswestry Town Council event!
