A PRIMARY school from a village near Oswestry has been hit by vandals twice in as many weeks, with perpetrators damaging property and attempting to break in.
Morda C of E Primary School has been targeted twice in the past couple of weeks and three times since the summer.
The vandals caused damage to school property and equipment and created a mess in the children’s outdoor area.

Headteacher Helen Chapman said: “We had two gates ripped off the hinges, and a handle to a door at an entrance in the school, a wooden plate was kicked in, the lock to a shed with children’s toys was also broken and the equipment was sort of spread around.
“They haven’t actually taken anything but they did mess things up.
“The children were upset that anyone would want to do anything to their school.
“The police have been very helpful and gave us some advice.”
The first incident which took place last week also saw the gates being broken, so the school has now had to fix them twice.
“Last week there was also damage to the pre-school," Mrs Chapman added. “It’s messing up things and it creates annoyance.”
The school is looking to increase its security.
The headteacher added: “We don’t want to have to be watching everything.
“We are just asking the community to keep an eye on the place.”
Earlier this year the school also suffered another incident of vandalism, in which a shed on the site was damaged.
“At the time the whole community came together and supported us”, the head continued.
“We had a lot of support so it’s a shame that others want to damage it – we are just really sad about it.”
The school is now asking for the local community to help them and remain vigilant, while reporting anything suspicious.
