ROAD users are being urged to find alternative routes after the A490 was closed because of flooding on Tuesday morning.
According to Highways monitoring website Inrix, the road is closed between the Meifod turn off and Llwydiarth turn off.
Users of the Facebook group North Powys Community Travel Alerts have advised members that the road to Llanfyllin is closed from Bwlch y Cibau.

One user, John Beerryman, posted at 6.30am, stating: “With the road to Llanfyllin closed over Bwlch y Cibau the diversion to Llanfyllin is via Llanfechain.
“This road (in places) is badly flooded with the water pooling and becoming quite deep.

“In addition the junction (left to Meifod, right to Llanfyllin) at the end of the long straight has a great deal of water standing, as has one point on the aforementioned straight.”
Much of Mid Wales appears to have been affected by the heavy rains that passed over the area courtesy of Storm Debi on Monday.
However, most roads appear to be running as normal.
