A main road between Welshpool and Llanymynech was closed for several hours following a collision on the A483.

On Saturday, November 11, at approximately 12:05pm, Dyfed Powys Police attended an incident on the A483 between Welshpool and Llanymynech.

Emergency services were also called to the scene, with one man being transported to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes, as the road was closed in both directions and heavy traffic built up following the crash.

Dyfed Powys Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police were made aware of a two vehicle collision on the A483 between Welshpool and Llanymynech at approximately 12:05pm on Saturday, November 11.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service to assist. The road was closed for the vehicles to be recovered and was re-opened at approximately 3:00pm.”

A spokesperson for Wales Ambulance Service added: “We were called on Saturday, 11 November at 12:04pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Llanymynech.

“We sent one emergency ambulance to the scene and one person was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment.”
