A FLOOD alert for where two rivers join together outside Oswestry has been issued by the Environment Agency (EA).
With Storm Ciaran battering much of southern UK, ahead of a potential Storm Debi – which is yet-to-be confirmed – following over the weekend.
The EA is now monitoring water levels at the Severn Vyrnwy Confluence, at Crew Green, near Oswestry, with the most recent update coming at 8.13am today (Thursday, November 2).

A EA spokesman said: “Flooding is possible in this area.
“Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
“Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
“Environment Agency Flood Warning Officers set the river or tidal levels that have triggered this message.

There are currently no other alerts for the area but villages such as Melverley, Maesbrook and Crew Green.
