POLICE have confirmed that the death of a woman in Ellesmere over the weekend is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers from West Mercia Police said they were called to The Mere at around 6.30pm on Saturday after reports of woman found unresponsive by members of the public.
Police say that the incident is not being investigated as suspicious.
A spokesman said: “We received a call around 6.25pm on Saturday evening (October 21) from somebody who had spotted an unresponsive person around The Mere in Ellesmere.
“Officers attended to find a woman sadly deceased.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious.”
