A PUB landlady has confirmed a road traffic collision outside her business in Pant on Thursday afternoon has left some minor damage

Mauren Hale is landlady at the Cross Guns pub in Rockwell Lane, Pant, and says that a wall in front of the pub and her sign were both damaged after a road traffic collision (RTC) between a lorry and car at around 2.30pm

She said that the pub’s main building was not affected and said the driver was looked after before being taken to hospital.

“The lorry came off the road,” she said.

“As far as I know, the driver was breathing and he was taken to hospital.

“It’s taken a bit of my wall out at the front and it’s also taken my sign down.

“But they were able to drive the lorry away and everyone here is fine.”

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance service confirmed the lorry driver was treated for injuries and then taken to hospital.

“We were called to reports of an RTC in Rockwell Lane in Pant, Oswestry at around 2.20pm on Thursday.

“An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a lorry and a car had been involved in a collision.

“The lorry driver was treated for minor injuries by ambulance staff and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment.

“No-one else was injured.”

The accident led to the road from Pant through Llanymynech to be closed for a short period and reopened around 4pm.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "At around 4.45pm yesterday afternoon, we were called to a two-vehicle collision in Rockwell Lane in Pant, Shropshire involving a lorry and a car. Minor injuries were recorded. No one was arrested."
