SHROPSHIRE firefighters in and around Oswestry and Ellesmere were called out to a number of false alarms on Tuesday and Wednesday.

One crew from the town was sent to Bryn Offa Primary School, in Rockwell Lane, Pant, shortly before 11.30am but the system had been re-set prior to their arrival.

However, a thermal imaging camera was used to check for any heat sources before it was confirmed to be a false alarm.

Then at around 90 minutes later, a crew from Ellesmere was sent to Park Hall Stadium, home of The New Saints, but after another false alarm, was found, staff were advised to call in an engineer.

However, another crew from Oswestry was sent to the stadium at 8.50pm when the alarm activated but again, it proved to be a false alarm. 

Firefighters carried out checks using a thermal imaging camera but nothing was found and it was deemed a system fault.

Then at around 6am on Wednesday morning, one crew from Ellesmere was sent to Morrison's Petrol Station in Beatrice Street but the alarm was reset by an engineer.
