FIRE crews have been called out to reports of a car fire in Oswestry town centre yesterday afternoon, September 11.
At 5.18pm, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) responded to the incident that took place in Willow Street.
One fire appliance from Oswestry used a hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera at the scene.
A spokesperson for SFRS said: “There was one saloon vehicle smoking and the battery has been disconnected prior to the fire service personnel’s arrival.
“Crews continued to dampen down the area.”
A stop message, confirming no further assistance was needed, was sent out to control at 5.35pm.
