GP surgeries near Ludlow have been named some of the best in their region.

GPs including Meadows Medical Pratice in Clun, Craven Arms Surgery and Bishops Castle Medical Practice made the top 10 in the rankings across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, following the 2023 GP Patient Survey published earlier this year, revealing what patients thought of their local GP practice.

The survey found that out of the 111 patients who responded from the Clun practice, 94.6 per cent said their experience at the practice was either good or very good.

This included 73.8 per cent saying the practice was "very good", the highest grade on the survey.

Meanwhile, the survey found that 91.3 per cent of patients at Bishops Castle described their overall experience there as good or very good.

Of them, 62.2 per cent said the service was very good, while 29.1 per cent described it as good.

Brown Clee Medical Centre was top with 100 per cent of the 133 people who responded saying it was 'good' or 'very good', followed by Knockin Medical Centre with 97.1 per cent, while Claremont Bank Surgery in Shrewsbury came third with a score of 96.7 per cent.

The annual survey saw around 760,000 patients complete a questionnaire asking about their experiences with the local GP surgery.

The NHS England figures showed overall satisfaction in GPs across England fell to its lowest level since the survey began in 2018, with 71.3 per cent of patients rating the service as "good" or "very good" in 2023 – down from 72.4 per cent in 2022.
