A woman has sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision in Caernarfon last night (Friday, September 1).

The incident occurred at about 9.17pm and involved a female pedestrian and a Citroen van on the A4086 Llanberis Road. The van was travelling towards the general direction of Cibyn Industrial Estate.

The pedestrian, a 75-year-old woman, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by Ambulance, but has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke, North Wales Police said.

PC Owain Roberts is appealing for witnesses. He said: “We are urging any witnesses to come forward. We’re also urging anybody who may have private CCTV or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the incident to also make contact.”

A spokesperson for the Roads Policing Unit added: "It has come to our attention that some individuals at the scene may have recorded the incident on their mobile phones. We’d urge those individuals to only share that footage with ourselves and not on social media – please think of all individuals involved and the integrity of our ongoing investigation."
