A NIGHT to remember unfolded at a recent concert dedicated to raising £1,000 of crucial funds for the Gobowen-based TV pilot, Henry House.

The event took place in Ty Pawb in Wrexham and it served as a showcase for the talented team behind the comedy-drama set in a care home, along with Derwen College performers with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who are supporting the TV show.

Dubbed Henry House: BounceBack, the concert proved to be a resounding success.

OTHER NEWS:

The urgency to fund the pilot arose when one of the show's beloved lead actors, Peter Purves, suffered a wrist injury, necessitating a complete re-shoot of the production for it to survive.

Peter’s lead co-star, Òrla Jones headlined the fundraising night, singing instead of acting this time, and was in awe of the support there was for her show.

She said: “Seeing a sold out audience, all there to support Henry House, was just so amazing.”

“I’m happy to have been part of a brilliant night.”

The evening garnered immense enthusiasm from the audience, especially witnessing the celebration of the SEND community, inspiring passionate supporters.

One attendee added: "What a wonderful evening spent supporting Henry House; and seeing the SEND community celebrated was so inspiring.”

Despite the success of the concert, the project still requires additional funds to ensure its survival and continue providing unique opportunities for young people with SEND.
