A MICHELIN star chef has confirmed he's already booked up ahead of opening a new hidden restaurant near Oswestry.

Marc Wilkinson, owner of Fraiche, a highly-rated restaurant previously located in Oxton, Birkenhead, announced his move to Shropshire in April.

Marc has since been sharing updates via social media and said the concept will be similar to his previous location.

He said: “The tasting menu will be priced at £120 per person and the experience is to take place in the converted ground floor of my home, alcoholic beverages will be on a bring-your-own basis while I will stock soft drinks and waters for those who would like to enjoy those here.”

Because Marc is hosting the restaurant at his house, he has decided to keep the location a secret.

He continued: “The Fraiche location is situated in Shropshire and the nearest town is Oswestry, confirmed bookings will be of course given details of the address and assistance with directions.

“This is to keep my information as secure as possible.”

In 2004, Marc realized his long-held dream by establishing Fraiche, his own culinary venture.

Recognised for its exceptional quality, Fraiche earned a Michelin star in 2009, solidifying Marc's status as a celebrated chef.

He added: “The new concept will be a similar menu style as found on previous menus at Fraiche.

“A collection of multi courses making up the tasting menu using the same high-quality ingredients with mostly all the same suppliers on board.”

For the new restaurant near Oswestry bookings are up to eight guests per service, and table sizes ranging from one to six guests including a bench seat area viewing on to the open kitchen.

Bookings are taken from the first of the month and are available between Thursday and Saturday evenings and involve one sitting at 7pm so you can fully relax and enjoy the culinary experience prepared for you, according to the Fraiche website.

There will also be an option for overnight accommodation available.

Marc shared the news that he would be closing his previous restaurant back in the spring, having established a popular venue.

At that time he said: "Fraiche is indeed on the move and I leave Oxton filled with many memories and pride of what I have achieved so far with Fraiche and not forgetting the wonderful people I have met along the way.

“Now it’s time to evolve Fraiche and relocate it to the stunning countryside of Shropshire.

“A huge thank you to all who have supported the restaurant and hope some of you venture down to try the new environment this summer.”
