A man “seen waving a sword outside a pub” in Oswestry has been arrested by police.
The incident happened outside The Highwayman pub in Shrewsbury Road at around 4.15pm today (Wednesday, June 28).
West Mercia Police confirmed that no-one was injured and no-one else was involved in the incident.
Shortly after 6pm, the force tweeted: “A man has been arrested after police received a report a man was seen waving a sword outside a pub in Oswestry earlier this afternoon.

“The incident happened outside the Highways pub in Shrewsbury Road around 4.15pm.
“No-one else was involved in the incident, and no-one was injured. The sword has been recovered by police.”
West Mercia Police added that the arrested man remains in custody while officers investigate the incident.
