A SHEEP who got trapped on a ledge near Oswestry led to fire crews called to the scene.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called out to an animal rescue mission in Quarry Blodwel Bank, Oswestry, yesterday, Sunday, June 11, at 12.26pm.

One fire appliance was mobilised to the scene, and an operation officer was also in attendance.

A spokesperson from SFRS said: “A sheep that was trapped on the ledge, fell off before the fire service arrival.

“Now the sheep is in the care of the farmer, and no action was needed from the fire crews.”

A stop message confirming no further assistance was needed was sent out to control at 1.58pm.
