A RENOWNED busker turned speaker is set to captivate his audience when he speaks to the Oswestry Borders U3A group next month.
Eric Newton will give his talk on the "Life and Times of a Busker."
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Oswestry Senior Citizens' Club on Lorne Street.
Eric gained fame for his mesmerising clarinet performances in Leek and various north Staffordshire high streets.
Having also played in jazz bands, he now shares his fascinating life experiences with audiences, accompanied by a few musical interludes.

Originally, Eric turned to busking to raise funds for a trip to visit his friends in Australia.
Before that, he supported himself through a range of diverse jobs, from working on construction sites to pursuing photography and even serving as a wrestler's second.
His remarkable journey led him to secure a place at the prestigious Royal Northern School of Music.

Aside from his musical pursuits, Eric has achieved extraordinary feats as a marathon runner, completing an astounding 38 marathons while playing his clarinet along the way.
Through these endeavors, he has raised an impressive £60,000 for charitable causes.
The meeting will take place from 2pm to 4pm, and admission for visitors is £3, inclusive of refreshments.
Newcomers to Oswestry Borders U3A are warmly welcomed, with the opportunity to attend two meetings before joining.
