The owner of a popular Oswestry coffee shop has revealed big changes are on the way this summer.

Tom Jones, owner of Liar Liar, in Albion Hill, has confirmed that he will be passing on the keys of the business to a local buyer – yet to be revealed – on June 3.

Tom opened the café together with his brother James, who has now joined the RAF, and his sister Jess, who will soon be giving birth to her child, seven years ago.

But he said the time has come for a new challenge.

OTHER NEWS:

He added: “Jess having her baby was one of the reasons we decided to move on – but I also thought it was time for me to take on a new challenge.

“I have been with Liar Liar for seven years now, and I really want to step out my comfort zone.”

Tom explained he has a little girl himself, but added that he is not planning to go too far away from Oswestry.

“I think I need a bit of a break and then off to do something new – not too far though still somewhere around here,” he added.

To go out with a bang, Tom has organised a party at Knock & Snitch, in Cross Street, on June 3 from 5pm.

After that the cafe will be closed for a short time for a refurbishment, before reopening under the new owners.

Tom said: “The community support has literally always been incredible.

“I’d like to thank them so much and I hope to see some of them at the party in June.”

He added that he will share more information on the new owner and other exciting news, in the next couple of days.
