COMEDIAN, actress and writer Ruby Wax is set for another evening at an Oswestry bookshop to talk about her new book on mental health.

The event is set to take place at Booka Bookshop, in Church Street, on Wednesday, May 10.

Ruby’s new book, ‘I am Not as Well as I Thought I Was’ dives deep in her journey trying to navigate her mental health after ending up in a psychiatric institution.

She said: “Checking into a mental clinic wasn't exactly on my radar in 2022.

“Writing about it wasn't either. But here we are."

The Number One Bestselling Author of ‘A Mindfulness Guide for The Frazzled’, continued: “I began the book trying to find meaning by going on various, life-changing journeys, I ended up in a mental clinic; obviously things didn't work out the way I expected.”

Ruby has dedicated the book to her reader that are “deep in the darkness of mental illness” hoping to make them feel less alone.

A spokesperson from Booka added: “We’re delighted to welcome Ruby Wax back to Oswestry to celebrate the publication of her new book ahead of her new one-woman show this autumn.”

The price for the tickets is £19, which admits one and includes a signed copy of the book or £29, which admits two and includes one signed copy.

Doors are set to open at 6.45pm on the evening, with the event starting at 7.30pm.
