CHIRK Castle is set to play host to a flower display in honour of a Wrexham-based hospice for a fifth year.
The Nightingale House Sunshine Meadow will return to the National Trust property having first appeared five years ago in the form on sunflowers.
Since then, the annual Sunshine Meadow's flowers of choice have been poppies, bluebells, and forget-me-nots and for 2023, the magnificent grounds will be adorned with the perennially popular snowdrop.
Delyth Underwood, community fundraiser at Nightingale House, said: “We are delighted to once again be working in collaboration with the National Trust to celebrate the fifth anniversary of our Sunshine Meadow.
“Around 1,000 Snowdrops will be planted at Chirk Castle in front of the Bachelor Tower from June 3 to 30, 2023.”

The partnership between Nightingale House and The National Trust has developed over time.
The Wrexham-based hospice helps children deal with loss, and ‘The Woodland Wellbeing Days’ held at Erddig Hall's grounds provide breath-taking scenery for children to engage their senses, make new friends, and feel a sense of connectedness with someone else in a similar situation.
Every year, hospice supporters purchase flowers from Nightingale House to remember a loved one or to commemorate the life of someone important to them.
Bethan Scott's husband passed away in 2017 after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer and she explained what Sunshine Meadow means to her.
“For me, I love the way the flowers are displayed in a natural environment,” she said.
“Visiting the sunshine meadow every year where the flowers are on display offers a time to reflect and contemplate, I guess nature allows us to do just that.
“We are then able to take the flowers home and choose our own personal place to display them.
“I have an array of flowers from past campaigns in my garden, they complement each other embracing in the wind that we can`t see, but like love, we can feel.”
