THE MCDONALD'S team in Chirk held a fundraising event for the fast-food chain's charity. 

The restaurant team held a fundraising event for Ronald McDonald House Charities on Saturday, March 11.

Fundraising activities include a tombola, raffle, glitter tattoos, balloon modelling, ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ and ‘guess the name of the teddy’.

A spokesperson from McDonald's said: "This is the first of a number of ‘fun days’ the team are planning and looking forward to getting the community involved for a good cause in the near future."

The team raised £296 in total, all of which will be donated to RMHC.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities is an American nonprofit organization which creates, supports and finds programme that improve the overall well-being of children. 

The charity's aim is to provide 'a home away from home'.

In the UK there are 14 Houses, that give families a warm and comfortable place to rest, eat and relax, just moments away from their child’s hospital ward. 

Since 1989, the RMHC have supported over 60,000 families living in the UK or coming from abroad for specialist care.

For every pound donated the charity spends 70p towards the houses.

They operate from 14 NHS hospitals with more developments planned for the future.
