CAE GLAS Park is set for a delayed opening this morning, as a yellow warning of snow and ice is still in place.

Oswestry Town Council announced on their Facebook that for safety reasons the park will open later today, Thursday, January 19.

The post reads: "For safety reasons, there will be a delay in Cae Glas Park opening this morning.

"This delay is due to the paths being icy and the team are working hard to rectify.

"Thank you for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience."

As temperatures dropped below freezing this week and the Met Office has put in place a warning of snow and ice, in place since Wednesday, January 18.

In their twitter post they said: "A cold start to Thursday with a widespread frost and a risk of icy conditions on roads and pavements"

This morning they have extended the warning to last until 12pm today.
