Scottish Power has closed Middleton Road this afternoon (Tuesday, January 17) to carry out repair work.

Work is expected to take five days.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said the authority has asked the energy company to get the road opened as soon as possible.

They said: "Scottish Power has closed Middleton Road in Oswestry following a loss of electricity supply.

"The road has been closed to carry out repair work safely.

"Work is expected to take up to five days but we've asked that they reopen the road as soon as possible, when safe to do so."
