THERE'S a last chance to see an historic locomotive pass through the Shropshire/Welsh border this morning (Friday, January 13).

The 61306 Mayflower will be travelling through Chirk and Gobowen as she completes her fourth circular tour of the region this week.

Some train enthusiasts will have already spotted her as she has passed through the region each day since Tuesday starting and ending in Crewe.

However, today is her final dash.

Her route takes her from Crewe, through to Chester, Shrewsbury, Cosford, Stafford and back up to Crewe.

Unfortunately, she won't be stopping at Chirk and Gobowen, but she will make a fine sight as she flies through the stations - which is estimated to be at 11.10am and 11.13am, respectively - and gives her customary toot bringing smiles to many faces.

The 61306 Mayflower is a B1 Class locomotive and was built in 1948 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow.

Her current journeys don't include passengers but are being used as test runs.

And for those who can't nip out to see her, the Advertizer is hoping to run a Facebook Live so make sure you visit our page where you can see the 61306 Mayflower live, or catch up with her journey later on.
