THE WYNNSTAY Hotel has been officially reopened by the Mayor Councillor Jay Moore, at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday morning (December 9).

The Mayor cut the ribbon outside the main entrance of Oswestry's Georgian hotel, in Church Street, and pulled the first pint.

The hotel, now acquired by The Coaching Inn Group, has been completely transformed over recent months to ensure that it can play a growing role in the community life of the town for many years to come.

The Coaching Inn Group has spent more than £1million on an extensive refurbishment, which has seen the creation of an eye-catching new restaurant and bar area, the opening of a new walk-in coffee shop and the upgrading of all thirty-two bedrooms.

Group chief executive officer, Kevin Charity said: "We’ve become a very people focussed business over the past four years, just constantly refining our Hospitality from the Heart culture.

"We’re focussed on looking at what we can do better and how we as a management team can serve our people – that's been the key."

He added: "Anyone joining The Wynnstay Hotel team now has an excellent opportunity for advancement through the group’s industry-leading and award-winning InnSpire program, which encourages members to rise to the next stage by gaining hospitality industry qualifications."

The upgrade process has also created 20 new jobs in all departments.

Mr Charity added that an example of success is the Boston in Lincolnshire, as the company had expanded steadily over recent years and established an enviable reputation for the role its properties played at the very heart of the communities they served, and hopes that the same will happen at The Wynnstay.
