OSWESTRY will make an appearance on TV this Friday as presenter and comedian Susan Calman will live out a childhood dream by getting to drive a train courtesy of Cambrian Heritage Railways.

Susan Calman's Grand Days Out adventure carries on this Friday, November 11, at 8pm on Channel 5, and it will explore Shropshire and its beautiful scenery.

While in north Shropshire filming, Susan visited the railway's stop at Weston Wharf on the outskirts of the town along with her trademark campervan, affectionately named ‘Helen Mirren’.

A spokesman from Cambrian Heritage Railways said: "We are proud to announce that the episode where Susan gets to have a go at the controls and drive the locomotive will be transmitted on Channel 5."

And with their help this is how Susan got to live her childhood dream of driving a train, and she got to do it in the 'stunning rural paradise'.
