GCSE results day is here and pupils, teachers and parents from Oswestry are extremely delighted with their results.
After a couple of very tough years, students from the area are set to go to sixth form after receiving their desired set of grades, making their schools and parents very proud.
The Marches School is "celebrating" after its team and pupils have worked so hard to come to these results, and they are "delighted to be represented by such incredible young adults".
Headteacher Alison Pearson said: " This year was very disrupted, with loads of sick staff and students, so to get through that and keep going, it's amazing, and they got some brilliant results.
"They deserve it, they worked hard for them."
Sophia Siddi, one of the school's top students, achieved a 9 in English and 9 in Maths, and she is so happy with the results, and can't wait to celebrate with her friends over chocolate cake.
But this day was not just emotional for pupils and staff, according to Malden Rangelova, another student from The Marches, her parents were also moved as she recalls "there were a few tears."
Oswestry School is also over the moon with its students results, and will welcome back most of them to sixth form while also receiving new international students.
Peter Middleton, headteacher at Oswestry School, said: "We are very proud of them, they have dealt with a lot of challenging circumstances, so it's a particular triumph when you see their results.
"We will be welcoming a lot of our students from secondary school back, while also taking in students in from as far as Mexico and Montenegro, and everywhere in between."
Poppy Wilson, pupil at Oswestry School, has achieved 9s in English Language and Maths, and a 7 in English Literature, and has quite unique plans to celebrate, with a spa day surrounded by friends.
Another student at the school, Kathy Wang received 9s and 8s across all subjects, and she will be moving on to study at Concord College.
She says she wants to be a doctor but "needs to research more about it".
