THREE teenagers remain in custody and a 17-year-old boy is still in hospital following a stabbing in Oswestry.

The incident happened around 1am on Welsh Walls within the Brynhafod playing fields, close to the town centre, after the boy was stabbed and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries.

Two males from Oswestry, aged 16 and 18, and a 19-year-old female from Shrewsbury were arrested by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Rich Davies also assured the public. He said: “We are confident there is no ongoing risk to the wider public.

"We remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.

“We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured any footage of it on a mobile or dash cam to please get in touch.”
