RESIDENTS are being reminded that Ellesmere Carnival will celebrate its 100th anniversary at their 2022 event this Saturday.
People from all over north Shropshire are being invited to visit Ellesmere on August 20 for its day of celebrations, marking a centenary of fun.
A spokesman for the carnival welcomed visitors wishing to attend the day, which will include an unveiling of a new statute celebrating George the friendly goose.
"The event will take place at the Cremorne Gardens from 10am until late, with the parade starting at 12pm," they said.
Their motto is 'Fun for the whole family' and they will be producing just that.
"There will be live entertainment from Wintersound and Deejay, various stalls, rides, food, a bar and much more to be enjoyed by visitors."
