A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a vehicle on a main road in Flintshire.
The incident occurred on the B5125 Chester Road, near Hawarden Farm Shop, on Saturday at about 10am.
Emergency services, including three ambulances and the air ambulance, attended, and police closed the road for a couple of hours whilst the incident was dealt with.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Saturday, (August 13) at 10.06am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and cyclist on the B5125, Hawarden.
"We sent three emergency ambulances to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance. One person was transported by air to University Hospital Aintree for further treatment.”
A North Wales Police spokeserson said: "Officers attended and the road was closed whilst colleagues from Welsh Ambulance Service and Helimed attended.
"Our investigation into this incident is still ongoing."
