The special thing about summer is the warmth and happiness.
It’s the perfect time to go to the beach and have your favourite ice-cream or to visit the amusement park with your closest friends and family.
August is that last flicker of fun and heat before everything fades and dies. The final moments of fun before the freeze of winter.
We are getting used to hard winters in this country.
Two years of lockdown misery and isolation is set to be followed by another stark winter when the majority of the British public will have no other choice to turn the lights off in their homes and find warmth under a blanket.
It is more important than ever that we take the lessons of the past few years and ensure nobody is left behind and take the time to knock on the doors of those less fortunate and help in any way we can.

This help can come in many ways.
From ensuring they have enough to eat and are warm enough to inviting them to your home from time to time.
Community is important and it can can come in many forms.
It is not just a street or row of homes of people who know each other but can also be people who share interests and a passion for similar things.
Our camera club is a great example of how people from many walks of life can come together with a shared purpose and raise the spirits of their companions and other readers with their snapshots of life.
