THE Wales Comic Con is now just a few weeks away and another huge attraction has been unveiled for it this week.

The popular convention moved from Wrexham's Glyndwr University to Telford International Centre back in 2019.

But Wales Comic Con will finally be back in Wrexham this year on Sunday, August 21 for what is being described as a 'very special homecoming'.

Among the famous faces set to make an appearance is Wrexham's own Mark Lewis Jones, who has starred in the likes of Star Wars, Silent Witness and so much more down the years.

However, there is so much to look forward to as well and this year's, it has been announced this week, is set to welcome Robot Wars to Glyndwr.

Robot Wars was a robot combat competition that was broadcast on British television from 1998 to 2004 and from 2016 to 2018.

It was hugely popular and saw teams of amateur and professional roboteers operating their own constructed remote controlled robots to fight against each other.

Teams would battle it out in an arena formed of steel and bullet proof glass fitted with arena hazards and containing areas occupied by hostile and heavier "House Robots".

A revived show ran for three series, before it officially ended in March 2018.

But, Wales Comic Con guests will get the rarest of opportunities to watch some bots battle it out in Wrexham later this month.
