AN extraordinary meeting of the Watson Financial Mid Wales League South will take place on Monday, July 11.
The league’s AGM took place at Builth Wells Football Club earlier this week, but another meeting has been scheduled to hammer out the long-term future of it, as several teams were promoted to Tier 4 and the MMP Mid Wales League, which changes from east and west divisions to north and south next term.
Brecon Town, Penybont United, Knighton Town and Presteigne St Andrews opted for promotion – potentially leaving just Talgarth Town, Newcastle, Felindre, St Harmon and Hay St Marys in the Mid Wales League South.
Discussions on Monday, June 27, suggested a possible amalgamation with clubs in Montgomeryshire, but were not formalised, with a final decision likely at the next meeting, which will again be hosted by Builth, at 7pm.
