A POWYS teen has been banned from the roads for a year after he was pulled over almost four times over the legal drug drive limit.
Euan Dykes, 19, was stopped driving a BMW in Cwmbran just before Christmas last year. A road side drug wipe proved positive and Dykes, of Llangenny Lane, Crickhowell, was arrested. A drug test at the police station showed there to be 182 micrograms of benzoylecgonine, a compound of cocaine, in his blood – the legal limit for the substance is 50 micrograms.
Dykes pleaded guilty to drug driving when he appeared at Newport Magistrates' Court on Friday, June 24.
He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as a £34 surcharge. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
