A CHARITY golf event will be taking place later this year in support of a charity based in the Orthopaedic in Gobowen later this year.

The event will support The Movement Centre which is based in the hospital and provides physiotherapy to children who face problems with movement control and it is hoped children can gain head control, develop skills to sit unaided and enable some to walk.

The event will be taking place in Oswestry Golf Club on Friday, September, 16 and the money raised will help children with movement disabilities reach their full potential through targeted training therapy and give them more independence.

The event is being sponsored by building contractors Pave Aways and supported by Oswestry firm, Sol Distribution and Victoria Lawson, the commercial director of Pave Aways was pleased to be supporting the charity.

She said: "We are delighted to be supporting The Movement Centre again this year, after a great charity golf day last time out.

"It will be good fun to be out with friends and colleagues, networking, whilst supporting such a worthy charity and I would encourage teams to sign up for the event.

"The Movement Centre is a fantastic Shropshire charity, and Pave Aways is pleased to support its fundraising."

The golf day includes 18 holes of golf, a two course meal and prize giving.

There will be lots of prizes on offer including first, second and third team prizes and individual prizes and a raffle will be held on the day.

Curtis Langley, the fundraising and marketing officer at the movement centre was pleased with the support.

He said: "It is amazing to have the support of these two local businesses at our annual charity golf day.

"It would not happen without their support, and we are really looking forward to the event in September."
