A cross country mountain biking competition recently visited Llanfyllin for the latest stage in its 2022 series.

The Welsh Enduro Series arrived at Greenhall Farm on June 11 and June 12 for the third stage of its 2022 series and is due to return to the venue later this year.

The event saw record levels of bikers come to the area for the weekend who enjoy all that Llanfyllin had to offer.

This is the fourth year the series has held an event in Llanfyllin, only missing one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Welsh Endurance Series organiser Adrian Bradley said: “Racing at Llanfyllin this year has stepped up another level with trails crafted by local diggers providing a challenge to the UK’s fastest enduro riders.

The Welsh Enduro Series arrives at Greenhall Farm in Llanfyllin.

“The area has now established itself as a great venue to hold large scale mountain bike events and is a firm favourite with riders and the team behind the Welsh Enduro Series.

“We look forward to returning in September this year for another round of the series at the fantastic Greenhall Farm land.

“A huge thank you must also go out to Peter and all the Lewis family for their support of events on their land.”

The Welsh Enduro Series is designed not just for experienced riders but also as a platform for new riders to start their racing journey.

Mr Bradley added; “The stage at Llanfyllin was one of our favourites in 2019 and was arguably the Round of the year in 2021.

“Llanfyllin and the surrounding area has become a hotbed for mountain biking in Mid Wales as well as producing local talent like Joe Breeden who races on the World Cup Downhill Circuit.

“It has also attracted some of the UK and Worlds fastest riders, such as top female riders Tahnee Seagrave and Veronique Sandler who now call this area their home.

“Also living and riding in the area are Kaos Seagrave and Kade Edwards who both race on the World Cup Downhill Circuit.

“All of these riders are pushing the boundaries of what is possible on mountain bike, and inspiring the younger generation of local riders.”

The series is returning to Llanfyllin on September 4 for its fifth round.
