Wrexham appeared on BBC's the One Show where it showcased it's City of Culture bid ahead of the final decision later this week. 

Viewers who tuned in to the hit show last night (May 23) would have seen images from the recent trip the judging panel made to Wrexham. 

Presenter Michelle Ackley followed the panel, led by Sir Phil Redmond on their visit earlier this month.

During the show, Ms Ackley described Wrexham as an aspiring region of North East Wales, whose bid was focused on the idea of fun and getting people to play.

The film showed images from the judging panels trips to Moneypenny, the Racecourse and the Venture, which included Sir Phil on a zip-line.

Michelle Ackley also spoke with Malcom King from the Venture, local music artist Mr Phormula and Kerry Evans from Wrexham AFC. 

The Chief Executive of Wrexham Council Ian Bancroft said that the bid is 'about the difference City of Culture will make'. 

Wrexham is up against Bradford, County Durham and Southampton for the coveted prize, which is set to be announced later this week.
