A PAIR of long-standing fundraisers from Chirk have been recognised for their services.
Denise Morris and Jean Owen were recently presented with certificates and loyalty badges in recognition of their work for the NSPCC and Childline, which amounts to 100 years between them.
The pair were presented with their awards by Jess Finnegan, the charity's community fundraising manager for North Wales, at an event held at The Hand Hotel in Chirk, looked on by their fellow members of the charity's Chirk branch.
They look forward to continuing to help with the essential work of fundraising and the next event planned will be an Open Garden at Hillside Pontyblew, Chirk, home of Ferelith Smith on Saturday, June 11 from 12noon to 4pm when there will be refreshments, raffle and plant stall available.
