THERE will be Gallic feel to a dance night in Chirk next month with a series of French and Breton dance workshops.

Black Park Chapel, in Halton, will be hosting the series of workshops from the afternoon on Saturday, May 14 from 1pm at its venue before the Grand Evening Bal.

A spokesman said that there are plenty of workshops and evening options and encouraged people to get involved.

They said: "From 2-3.30pm, a French and Breton dance workshop with Alan Maxwell for beginners or experienced and no partner required.

"From 2.30-4pm there is a music workshop with Helen Armstrong; have a go at playing French and Breton music for dancing.

"From 4pm, there is a couple dancing workshop with Annette Davies for beginners or experienced and no partner required.

"From 4.15pm, there is French/Breton music session – bring your instruments.

"And then from 7.45–11pm, there will be a Grand Evening Bal with Kantref, a multi-instrumental band specialising in the music and dances of Brittany and France.

"There is a licensed bar, free on-site parking and fully accessible venue.

"Tea and coffee available, please bring your own food (and plates, cutlery etc)."

Workshops and session are £10; Grand Bal £10 or £15 for the whole event.
