Chirk AAA were crowned Ardal North East League champions after a 4-0 win over Berriew on Sunday.

Goals from Tom Williams, Dale Davies, Ashton Williams and Jack Edwards settled the outcome at Holyhead Road.

Elsewhere Four Crosses were hammered 9-0 at Caersws on Friday night but Chirk’s victory on Sunday means the Bluebirds are now in a two horse race with Cefn Albion for runners-up spot and a play-off final.

Luke Mumford starred with four goals hat-tricks while Will Thomas struck a hat-trick while Rhydian Davies and Neil Mitchell strikes completed the rout.

Meanwhile the end of an era at Llanrhaeadr saw the villagers lose 3-0 at home to Buckley Town in JD Cymru North on Saturday.

The relegated hosts were keen to end Marc Griffiths’ managerial tenure but their resistance was broken with Asa Hamilton’s 55th minute penalty.

Dylan Roberts doubled the Stags’ lead before Max Moore added a third in injury time.

Elsewhere honours ended even at Foxen Manor in the FAW Central Reserve League with Luke Jones saving Four Crosses Reserves a last gasp point in a 1-1 draw at home to Penrhyncoch Reserves who led through Ioan Joseph’s strike.

Phil Hughes struck twice as Meifod overcame Llanymynech 2-0 at the King’s Head to maintain their JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League title bid.

Meanwhile Stuart Buckley-Robins proved the match winner as Trewern United beat Trefonen 1-0 in the league cup.

David Morris-Roberts netted twice as Llangedwyn prevailed 3-1 winners at Llanfechain with Tomos Horn also netting while Barry Morris replied for the hosts.

Elsewhere Adam Gough struck twice as Waterloo Rovers Reserves and Llanfyllin Town Reserves played out a 2-2 draw with the hosts replying through Mark Bridge and Thomas Williams.

Meanwhile Llangollen Town lost 3-2 at home to Greenfield in the North East Wales Premier League.

Jake Hayward and Rupeni Thorn netted for the hosts who saw Meuryn Hughes sent off.
