THE MP for North Shropshire has paid a visit to an Oswestry pre-school celebrating 55 years since it was founded.
Helen Morgan was shown round Oswestry Methodist Pre-School in Castle Street and met with the Methodist minister for north Shropshire, Reverend Julia Skitt, as well as staff and children.
The manager of the school, Mark Nickless was pleased the Liberal Democrat MP visited.
He said: "We were very grateful that our new MP could visit us.
"As someone who has experience of the pre-school movement having been treasurer to one, she knows just how valuable is the opportunity for young children to not just learn together, but play and socialise, gaining the interpersonal skills they need to take into formal schooling, and then on into adult life."

Ms Morgan praised the staff for their work.
She said: "It was a lovely visit, to people continuing a tradition of service to the local community, with some impressive premises and very dedicated staff.
"What I gained from this was not just some memories of happy, well looked after children, but the reinforcement of my concerns about the importance of supporting children and families in a way that puts them at the centre, recognises their problems, and finds solutions to improve lives, now and for the future."
Oswestry Methodist Pre-School recently received a good report at its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2019.
