Bala Town 1 TNS 1

TNS stuttered to a midweek draw at Bala Town as honours ended even in the JD Cymru Premier top of the table clash at Maes Tegid tonight.

Jordan Williams broke the deadlock after just two minutes as the Saints hit the ground running.

Ben Clark's quick footwork on the edge of the area released Louis Robles down the left whose low cross was turned home by Williams at the second attempt.

TNS continued to dominate with Ryan Brobbel firing over before Danny Davies drilled wide after 14 minutes.

The home side grew into the game but were restricted to long distance efforts with Kieran Smith firing wide while Will Evans' effort was smothered by TNS goalkeeper Paul Harrison.

Chances were sparse for the remainder of the half with Robles seeing a shot deflected wide for the Saints while Ollie Shannon blasted over the bar in Bala's best opening.

Lassana Mendes fired wide for the home side at the end of a largely forgettable first-half as the runaway league champions carved a slender lead over their closest challengers.

With the Saints still reeling the Lakesiders had threatened again with Shannon forcing an outstanding save from Harrison five minutes later as Bala scented weakness in the champions.

The Saints steadied the ship with Williams curling wide before Robles headed over the bar on the hour.

The Saints continued to turn the screw with Danny Redmond's close range effort deflected wide before Brobbel rattled the woodwork from long range as the Bala goal continued to lead a charmed life.

Danny Davies was denied by the woodwork with a powerful strike on 73 minutes before the home side almost regained the lead against the run of play when Peate's goalbound header was blocked on the line by Keston Davies.

However neither side could make the breakthrough as the match petered out into a draw.
