A HOST of mid Wales and border stars have been selected to represent Wales in the forthcoming C international against England.

The Dragons host the Three Lions at Caernarfon Town's Oval ground on Wednesday, March 30 with more than 700 tickets already sold for a match which has been postponed since 2020 due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Their last clash at the Peninsula Stadium in Salford in 2019 saw the two teams play out a 2-2 draw, while the non-League Lions earned a 3-2 victory at Barry Town United’s Jenner Park in 2018.

Mark Jones, who has taken charge of the previous two fixtures in the Wales C hotseat, will once again oversee proceedings and has named a squad of JD Cymru Premier talent.

Jones has named Llanfyllin-based Alex Ramsay, currently No1 with Bala Town, and TNS goalkeeper Connor Roberts in his line-upNewtown's Callum Roberts has also earned a call up alongside Aberystwyth Town's Lee Jenkins and Danny Davies of TNS.

TNS star Leo Smith is also in the squad along with Llangedwyn-raised Bala Town star Will Evans.

Jones said: “After missing out on this occasion in 2020 due to the pandemic, we’re more excited than ever to be welcoming England C to the Oval.

“It will be a fantastic occasion in what will be a momentous week for Welsh football.”

Opposite number Paul Fairclough was also relishing the opportunity with his squad called up from the Vanarama National League and the Pitching In Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern Football leagues.

He said: “We're really pleased to confirm that we’ve accepted an invitation to play this fixture against Wales C.

"The last two encounters between the two sides have provided plenty of entertainment and a platform for the players to progress their careers, so we’re looking forward to what should be an exciting game for all involved.”

Extra spice is added to the match after England called up Aaron Hayden, Ben Tozer, and Paul Mullin with the trio representing Wales-based Wrexham in the Vanarama National League.
