MORDA United had to be content with a point following a 1-1 draw against Newport Town in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League.

Kieran Barry's strike ensured the Yellows a point while Jordan Matthews' riposte ensured the visitors left Weston Pools Park with a share of the spoils.

Elsewhere a Zahk Ward double earned Gobowen Celtic a battling 2-1 win at home to Shrewsbury Up and Comers.

Meanwhile Ellesmere Rangers slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Abbey Hey United in the North West Counties South League with Lee Cropper's 19th minute strike proving the difference.

It proved to be another weekend to forget for St Martins who crashed to a 9-0 defeat at Wythenshawe Amateurs to remain marooned at the foot of the table.

William Shawcross opened the scoring after 15 minutes with Saul Henderson netting twice while Samuel Adewusi also struck to seal the points by half-time.

Henderson completed his hat-trick after the break before Shawcross completed his own treble with two goals five minutes.

Late goals from Arthur Okonkwo and Francesco Frangillo completed the rout.

Meanwhile St Martins Reserves were left kicking their heels after their Salop Leisure Shropshire League One clash with Saha Rovers was postponed.
